The project is located in Ordu Province and links two townships on the Black Sea Coast, Bolaman and Persembe. Samsun-Trabzon State Highway follows the Black Sea coast line passing through the towns of Unye, Fatsa, Persembe and Ordu. The design standards of this highway is considerably low especially between Bolaman-Persembe. Therefore, an alternate alignment is designed between Bolaman-Persembe to form a part of the future Black Sea Motorway. The new alignment is determined according to motorway standards. There are two grade separated interchanges on either ends of the new alignment where it ties into the old one. Since the new alignment follows the valleys of two rivers (Çalışlar and Akcaova Streams), there are 40 river bridges on the highway which is designed as single 2- lane carriageway. The highway corridor will enable the location of another 2-lane carriageway in the future, thus resulting in a dual 2-lane motorway. The total length of the highway is 27.5 km. 4.6 km of which is the tunnels.
