Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
The contract will include the new construction of four-lane Grigoleti – Kobuleti Bypass with the total length of 14 km. The Highway is designed and shall be constructed in accordance with the Georgian standard and TEM standard. The project is financed by the EIB and implemented with the civil works contract based on the FIDIC Conditions of Contract Multilateral Bank Harmonized Edition June 2010.
The construction project of approximately 14.4 km length section (Lot I) of Grigoleti-Kobuleti Bypass road envisages the construction of 4-lane asphalt concrete road, 4 bridge crossings, 5 interchanges, culverts and underpasses and artificial structures. The alignment starts from the right bank of Supsa river and passes over Supsa River with a 5 span bridge to left bank. Aligment bens on left bank of Supsa River to the south and passes between Ureki and Magnetiti towns. After passing Sepa river the alignment keeps going on plan areas until passing from the north of Black Sea Concert Arena. Then going gradually to west –south and merging to Kobuleti by-pass. The merging point is at approximately 11 km north of Kobuleti city centre.
The alignment passes through wetland and geotechnical solutions such as vertical drain, stone column etc will be applied.
The construction contracts total value is approximately 90 mil USD.
