Narrative Description of Project:
This project is related with the addition of a power house to the Vaykhir dam which is under construction. The water taken from existing irrigation gate shaft in to the penstock (with 2.20 m diameter) is conveyed to the power plant which is located at the entrance point of irrigation channel on the right embankment.
The penstock is located in the existing irrigation tunnel and the length is aprox. 215 m. The power house has 2 x 2.07 MW and 1 x 0.5 MW horizontal axis Franchis turbines. The turbines will operate between 1100m a.s.l. and 1124m a.s.l. water levels. The discharge for turbines has designed according to 10 m3/s normal discharge, 4m3/s for 70% productivity and 11 m3/s maximum. The water is going to existing irrigation channel or to the tail water channel (out of irrigation season) of the power house alternatively.
