The project area covers the towns and surrounding villages located in Arqoub Region – South Lebanon. The basic towns and villages to be examined under the study are: Ain Jarfa, Hebbariyeh, Fardis, Abou Qamha, Chebaa, Kfarhamem, Rashaya El-Fokhar, Kfarchouba, Kaoukaba, El-Meri in Hasbaya Caza and El-Wazzani in Marjayoun Caza. Work under this study shall be coordinated with the ongoing studies to avoid any contradicting with other projects that might be under execution or study in the mentioned areas.

The main objectives of the Project are:

a) To provide proper wastewater collection and disposal within the areas described above.
b) To provide protection against pollution of the local water sources by wastewater discharge, and;
c) To prepare recommendations for extending coverage to all communities.

The objective of the assignment is the provision of consultancy services for the Preparation of a Feasibility Study, Environmental Impact Assessment, Detailed Design, production of Tender documents and assistance in the tenders evaluation of the project that involve the construction of Wastewater Treatment Plants and Networks to serve towns located in the Arqoub region in South Lebanon.

(i) Assistance in organizing of wastewater sampling and quality analysis,
(ii) Assistance in selection of process alternatives and related calculations,
(iii) Assistance in determination of the locations for the geotechnical surveys,
(iv) Preparation of conceptual designs of related WWTP’s.
(v) Preparation of cost analysis and BoQ’s,
(vi) Preparation of technical specifications,
(vii) Preparation of tender documents,
(viii) Assistance during tender evaluations.
