The Consultancy Services for dam projects undertaken by Nurol Construction Company in Algeria comprise three dams: Boukhroufa Dam, Souk Tleta Dam and Douera Dam.

Boukhroufa Dam is located in Tarf in eastern side of Algeria. The purpose of the dam is irrigation. The dam which is of a central clay earth-fill type has a reservoir volume of 125 hm3.The dam height is 85 m from the foundation, crest length is 980 m, and has a total fill volume of 4,5 million m3. Diversion during construction will be provided at the right bank by an conduit with a capacity of 260 m3/s. The spillway of 1015 m3/s is placed at the right bank as an ungated, concrete lined channel.

Souk Tleta Dam is located in Tizi-Ouzou 80 km to the east of Algiers. The purpose of the dam is water supply. The dam which is of a central clay earth-fill type has a reservoir volume of 77,5 hm3.The dam height is 95 m from the foundation and has a total fill volume of 1,1 million m3. Diversion during construction will be provided at the left bank by two tunnels with a total capacity of 1090 m3/s. The spillway of 1480 m3/s is placed at the right bank as an ungated, side spillway.

Douera Dam is located 10 km to the west of Algiers. The purpose of the dam is irrigation. The dam which is of a central clay earth-fill type has a reservoir volume of 110 hm3.The dam height is 85 m from the thalweg and has a total fill volume of 6,2 million m3. Diversion during construction will be provided at the right bank by a conduit.

The contract comprises providing consultancy services for three dams, construction of which are undertaken by the Employer. Consultancy services includes:

• Technical consultancy on all matters related to the design of the projects as requested by the Employer (Geological, Geotechnical, Hydraulic, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical).
• Technical consultancy on all matters related to the execution of the projects.
• Technical consultancy on dam design and stability.
• Preparation of hydromechanical design guidelines.
• Check and comment of hydromechanical detailed design reports and drawings prepared by the Employer’s subcontractor.
• Preparation of grounding design.
• Preparation of structural design of crushing and screening plant, grouting gallery, access tunnel to valve chamber.
