Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
The Government of Kosovo has applied for a credit from the International Development Association (IDA), to finance the Kosovo Fostering and Leveraging Opportunities for Water Security (FLOW) Project. The objective of the Project is to strengthen national capacity for managing Kosovo’s water resources for water security, and in selected basin areas, improve integrated land and water resource management practices and services, in a resilient manner.
The existing distribution networks in Gjilan and Kamenica have been developing over the past 60 years and the current average age of the entire distribution networks is about 30 years. Given their current state, which is characterized by deterioration, leakages, insufficient profiles of the pipes and the constant demands for expansion, there has long been a need to develop an appropriate comprehensive project documentation that would provide solutions for the upgrade (i.e. replacement and expansion), to create optimal conditions for a quality water supply, and at sufficient pressure to all consumers and to ensure preconditions for provision of water for normal functioning of the hydrant networks in the whole area.
Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by TEMELSU:
• Task 1: Preparation of the preliminary and detailed design for replacement of the water main with approximate length of L = 7500 m, in Gjilan.
• Task 2: Preparation of preliminary and detailed design for construction of a new water main with approximate length of L = 6500 m, in Gjilan.
• Task 3: Preparation of the preliminary and detailed design for replacement of the existing water supply pipelines with approximate length of L = 3200 m, in Gjilan.
• Task 4: Preparation of the preliminary and detailed design for replacement of the existing water supply pipelines, with approximate length of L = 7000 m in Kamenicë/Kamenica.
