Description of Project:

The Damad Dam is located within the borders of the province of Jizan in Saudi Arabia. Its major purpose is flood control and irrigation. This dam which has a drainage area of 903 km2 is of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) type. The dam has a crest level of 277.00, foundation level of 225.00 and a height of 52.0 m. The ungated spillway which consists of 14 chambers with a width of each 14.0 m has a sill level of 270.00; the reservoir volume at this level is 55.5 Million m3 . The RCC volume of the dam is 240 thousand m3.

The construction works of the Damad Dam instructed by the Ministry of Water and Energy, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are executed under committement of the contractor Yüksel Construction Inc. The construction works commenced in May 2006 and completed in May 2010.
