The Baku – Tbilisi – Ceyhan Crude oil pipeline (BTC P/L) Project aims to transport Caspian crude oil via the Azerbaijan Republic, Georgia and the Republic of Turkey to the Mediterranean Sea covering a total distance 1730 km. Crude oil will be supplied to the international markets via a marine terminal to be constructed in the Gulf of Iskenderun at Ceyhan. The BTC P/L will be capable of transporting up to 50 million metric tonnes of crude oil per annum. Overall cost of the project will be approximately $2.9 billion and is 1068 km long Turkish section of the route will cost $1.4 billion.

A series of agreements between Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Project Investors had been signed. The sponsors of the project are : The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), BP Exploration Ltd. , Unocal BTC P/L Ltd., Statoil BTC Caspian AS, Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı (TPAO), ITOCHU Oil Exploration, Delta Hess BTC Ltd., ENI Italy. BOTAŞ, a state owned Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Company, is the contractor for construction of the pipeline and marine terminal from the Georgian border to Ceyhan in Turkey.

Temelsu have provided the following services in the principles of ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Topographical and Geological research for the setting of pipeline axis and determining right of way.
• Route narrowing and preparation of Land Acquisition file according to the Host Government Agreement
• Detail design for crossings of river, road, railway, pipeline, energy transmission lines
• Detailed geotechnical survey of 4 pumping stations
• Architectural, structural and installation detail design of 4 pump stations and 28 valve stations
• Excavation type classification of all route by geotechnical survey
• 1/25000 and 1/5000 right of way drawings for using in the tender packages.
• Preparation of tender packages
• Evaluation of tender documents and preparation of Bid Evaluation Report
• Coordination with the applicable State Authorities for the execution of all Land Acquisition related works and Authority Liaison
• Preparation of updated project execution plan to serve for the land acquisition and construction phase
• Preparation of GIS databases
• Pipe Stress Analysis of the process piping network in the 4 pump stations, the intermediate pigging and pressure reducing station , Ceyhan Marine Terminal and the Jetty by using the latest versions of softwares AutoPLANT and AutoPIPE.
• Engineering follow-up activities for incorporation of vendor data into the detailed design.
• Detailed Design for 170 km M.V. Power Transmission Lines to PT 01, PT 02, PT 03, PT 04 pump stations.
