Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
The Project covers the cities of Balykchy and Karakol located in Issyk-Kul Oblast. Its outputs under the Design and Supervision Consulting services are:
(i) Installing new 21.6-kilometer (km) sewer network to uncovered areas in Balykchy (10.3 km) and Karakol (11.3 km);
(ii) Constructing a 12.0 million liters/day (MLD) capacity wastewater treatment plant in Karakol;
(iii) Installing a pump station with submerged pumps to serve a residential area in Pristan, Karakol with 1.7 km pressure main;
(iv) Sludge Management for cleaning the ponds in WWTP sites, including the 39 ha pond of Karakol and Balykchy, and disposal of un-contaminated sludge.
