The purpose of the project is to provide water supply in quality and quantity according to standards of the European Union for the Municipality of Sanliurfa. The works shall allow to cover 3430,5 l/s daily demand of the 2020 population (1,380,000 person) of Sanliurfa Municipality. It is intended to be a comprehensive, technically reliable, sustainable, economically operable water supply system and to link the existing works they are planned by the GAP administration and secondary distribution system designed by Iller Bank. The project comprehends hydraulic models of the whole city for 2005 and 2020 years, determination of dimensions of units based on the hydraulic models and preparation of detailed design reports for these units:

• P1 (448,1 l/s,Hm=45 m), P2 (87,6 l/s, Hm=35 m) and P3 (219,1 l/s, Hm=160 m) pump station
• 1 reservoir of a volume of 24,000 m3, 2 reservoirs of a volume of 22,500 m3, 1 reservoir of a volume of 20,000 m3, 4 reservoirs of a volume of 10,000 m3
• Totally 35 050 m in length primary distribution system consisting of 900 m of DN500, 4000 m of DN600, 3300 m of DN700, 9500 m of DN800, 1600 m of DN1000, 800 m of DN1100, 9300 m of DN1200, 650 m of DN1300, 4000 m of DN1400, 1000 m of DN1800
In addition, the project includes design of electrical installations and controls of pumping stations, reservoirs and radio transmission devices, design of SCADA control system, cathodic protection system and preparing as-built projects.
The project is financed by European Commission, Temelsu is assigned as nominated designer.
