The aim of the project was formulation of development plan for ports in the sea of Marmara and new port at Therace region up to year 2015. The environmental sections of subject study has been prepared by Temelsu. Studies were consisting of:

• Air pollution in Marmara region
• Water pollution in Marmara region
• Soil pollution in Marmara region
• Wetland, flora and fauna
• Forestry
• National Parks

The aim of the studies carried out by Temelsu was to present o general overview of the current state of environmental in and around the port site of choice so that the future impacts of the proposed development could be evaluated properly. With this intention, relevant physical, chemical, biological and socio-economic data are being compiled through site visits, literature information and field measurements.
