By means of the two units each with an installed capacity of 85 MW in the powerplant, the dam will serve for hydroelectric energy production. Volume of the reservoir is 1.1 billion m3. The diversion during the construction is made through 2 tunnels each with an internal diameter of 7.50 m, with a total capacity of 1200 m³/sec.

The spillway is designed for 4710 m3/sec and has 4 openings, each equipped with radial gates of 10.0 m width and 14.5 m height.
