Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
The National Flag Square (Azerbaijani: DövlÉ™t Bayrağı Meydanı) is a large city square of Neftchiler Avenue in Bayil, Baku, Azerbaijan. A flag measuring 70 by 35 meters flies on a pole 162 meters high which had been confirmed as the world’s tallest by the Guinness Book of Records until being overtaken by the 165 meter Dushanbe Flagpole. The 2012 Eurovision Song Contest would take place at the newly constructed Baku Crystal Hall near the National Flag Square. The government’s ambitious plans to develop this area intensified after May 2011 till to May 2012.
Baku-Alat highway`s 8-lane section to the National Flag Square would meet modern standards and feature pedestrian underpasses. Between Km: 2+300 and 2+550, because of the potential landslide at hill-side, pile foundation of 30 m. depth.was constructed at hill-side of the road along 250 meters.
Number of lanes: 2×4 (2.8 km); At-grade roundabout intersection 1 nos. ; Pedestrian underpass: 4 nos.
Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by TEMELSU:
• Overall technical and administrative management of the contract
• Checking the Shop Drawings submitted by the Contractor
• Supervision of construction and ensuring the quality required
• Control and appraisal of progress and reporting
• Determining the value of approved variations and fixing new rates subject to limitations of authority.
• Issuing payment certificates
• Issuing Completion and Defects Liability Certificates
• Ensuring implementation of Environmental, health and safety and traffic management measures
• Advising the Employer on all matters related to the execution of the contract,
• Verification of “As-built” drawings supplied by the contractors
