Narrative Description of Project:
Gullubag Dam and HEPP is situated within the province of Erzurum. The aim of the project is to utilize the available head of Coruh River between the elevations 1147 m and 1042 m for energy production. The dam is of R.C.C gravity type and the height from foundation is 71.50 m. The spillway structure with 3 openings, each controlled with radial gates having dimensions 11.00 m X 14.80 m, is located on the R.C.C dam body. Spillway design discharge is 4464 m3/s. The installed capacity of the HEPP is 99 MW (3 Francis turbines each with a capacity of 33 MW). Length of the 6.00 m diameter power tunnel is 3247 m.
Description of Actual Services Provided by TEMELSU:
Final designs of the dam and appurtenant structures, power tunnel, surge tank, penstock and power house were prepared between the period 08/2007 and 11/2008. Final design activities included preparation of all the civil, mechanical and electrical calculations, reports, drawings and technical specifications. Detailed designs are prepared in parallel to the construction activities.
In addition to the above described works, the designs of 6205 m long access road to the dam site, 565 m long road tunnel and 185 m long viaduct were also prepared by TEMELSU under a separate contract.
