Detailed narrative description of project:
The objective of this Project covers irrigation of total 16505 ha (gross) agricultural land area of which 11485 ha land area is irrigated under scope of Boğazköy Dam Irrigation on the Bursa Yenişehir Plain and 5020 ha (gross) area under scope of subsoil-water irrigation. A part of irrigation water is provided from the Boğazköy Dam which is continued to be constructed on the Kocasu (Göksu) Creek; another part is provided from the subsoil-water reserves of the Yenişehir Plain. Irrigation water to be taken from the Boğazköy Dam will be conveyed to the project site by the Yenişehir Main Canal and the Seymen Main Canal consisting of a closed conduit pipe system. Irrigation networks of the main canals will be designed with pipes. Besides, irrigation of land areas (total 1239 ha) on the northeast slopes of the plains will be provided by the Avşar Pumping Station to be installed on the Yenişehir Main Canal. In order to realize Subsoil-Water Irrigation of Yenişehir Plains, a total amount of 56 deep wells will be opened and subsoil-water collected from these wells will be conveyed to (4 ) reservoirs from which water is delivered by pipe systems to irrigation areas.
