Narrative Description of Project:
OÅŸkan and Berkman HEPPs with energy purposes are located on the River Ceyhan, downstream of the existing AslantaÅŸ dam, within the borders of the province of Osmaniye. There is a head of approximately 21 m between AslantaÅŸ dam and Cevdetiye irrigation weir downstream. This head is intended to be utilized in two stages with the OÅŸkan and Berkman HEPP. Both projects comprise an embankment and outlet structure with a hydroelectric powerplant of 30 MW of power each. The purpose of the study is to make project formulation that covers technical and economical feasibility of the project.

The embankments are of earthfill type with a height of 15.5 m above thalweg. The gross head difference in both powerplants is 10.5 m and the installed power is 30 MW. On average, 125.83 GWh of energy will be generated annually at each of the powerplants which comprise three units.
