Manavgat Dam and HEPP is located on Manavgat River, 76 km east of the city of Antalya. Purpose of the project is to regulate peak flows released from Oymapınar HEPP which is situated in the upstream, so as to realize flood control; and to release a certain amount of water downstream in order to meet the downstream requirements for irrigation, tourism, fishing and sanitary needs during the hours when Oymapınar HEPP does not operate, as well as to produce 220 million kWh annually.
