Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
Konaktepe Dam is located on Munzur Branch of River Euphrates at the Eastern part of Turkey. The dam has a watershed area of 1086 km2. It is a clay cored rock fill type dam with a total volume of reservoir of 450 hm3. The dam has a crest height of 118.5 m and an active volume of 330 hm3 . It has a maximum discharge capacity of 1406 m3/sec. and a diversion capacity of 374 m3/s. It has a maximum operation level of 1235.1m.
The dam is aimed to generate electricity and 578 Gwh total annual electric generation is targeted with two power plants with installed capacities 90 MW and 48 MW.
The contract covers preliminary studies for final design, preparation of final design report and drawings, technical specifications, loan application report and Environmental Impact Assessment Report. The Consortium consist of Stone&Webster (USA), VA Tech Elin GmbH&Co (Austria), Va Tech Voest MCE&Co (Austria), Strabag (Austria), Ata Construction and Trade Inc. (Turkey) and Soyak International Construction and Investment Inc. (Turkey).
Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by TEMELSU:
Temelsu provided the following services as the subcontractor of Stone&Webster;
– Flood studies, preparation of hydrology report
– Road relocation analysis
– Expropriation studies for facilities in project area
– Preparation of Preliminary Environmental Impact Assessment and Final Environmental Report
– Mapping
– Preliminary studies and final design of dam, spillway and diversion structures
– Preparation of geological and material investigation reports and related drawings
– Ensuring conformity of reports and drawings in line with DSI standards
– Preparation of Terms of Reference for civil works
– Preparation of HVAC designs for power plant.
